Machu Picchu is located at an altitude of 2,400m above sea level; Cusco was referred to as the “Navel of the World”.

When arriving in Cusco from the coast, you will immediately notice the thin, clear mountain air, a result of the City’s high altitude. The first day in particular should be spent quietly relaxing and taking things easy as you gently acclimatize. Plan to spend at least 3 days in and around Cusco before starting any serious trekking such as the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Join this full-day adventure to unearth the mysteries of majestic Machu Picchu.

Pick-up early in the morning at centrally located hotels in Cusco, and we will drive to the Poroy train station (20 minutes from Cusco city by car) or Ollantaytambo train station (1 hour and 30 minutes from Cusco city by car) to take the Expedition service train to the town of Aguas Calientes (4 hours from Poroy to Aguas Calientes town and 2 hours from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes town by train).
You will visit one of the most important energetic centers of the world: Machu Picchu. The excursion will be by train, and during the trip we will have an amazing view of the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our representative will assist you in transferring to a bus for a brief journey to the much-visited archaeological site of Machu Picchu (25 minutes up and 25 minutes down), which will take you to the Machu Picchu citadel.

It will be an unforgettable experience, where a professional tour guide will share with you the history around this mysterious and charming place. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the citadel at your own pace. Don’t forget to capture the beauty of this World Heritage Site, as there are loads of photo-worthy moments waiting around every corner.

Afterward, we are going to take a bus down to Aguas Calientes.

By 4 pm, it’s time to make the return journey back to the city of Cusco. Hop on the train and ride back to the city, away from the magnetic heritage of mighty Machu Picchu, a mesmerizing place that will leave an imprint on your soul.

Upon your arrival in Cusco, we will meet and transfer you to your selected hotel.

RECOMMENDED THINGS TO TAKE:

You will need to wear light shoes or slippers or tennis, a change of clothes, Long sleeve shirts, Trousers, mineral water one liter (drink plenty of fluids in excursions), rain gear or poncho (plastic long poncho in the rainy season, can purchase in Cusco), warm jacket or fleece and wind coot, t-shirts, shorts and long pants, sun hat and wool hat, flashlight and extra batteries, sun block and insect repellent, toilet paper and garbage bag, small towel, camera, extra film and extra batteries for your camera, snacks, chocolates, energy bars, personal things, A light backpack per person, Carry currency in small denominations dollars or soles, Binoculars, Sunglasses, plastic bags, Medicine and/or personal items (liquid for contact lenses).

PAYMENT DETAILS:
For this tour, we require a Prepayment (60%) of the total, payable via a secure online payment link that we will send you. Please note that an additional 5% fee will be charged to cover the cost of the payment link. On the day of the tour, you must pay the remaining balance in cash. We accept both US Dollars and Peruvian Soles (local currency).

NOTE: We can assist you in purchasing your flight tickets from Lima to Cusco. We are happy to customize your trip.
